This FlexTrack Long-Term Care Nurse Aide course will prepare you to pass the two-part competency test to become a Certified Nurse Aide. At the completion of the class, you will take the skills and written tests to complete your certification. Cost of books, testing, and a stethoscope are included in the tuition. Students will complete 78 classroom/lab hours on a flexible schedule. Come in when it is convenient for you, during the following times: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Monday and Friday and 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Clinical hours (16) will be scheduled separately. Students will complete an orientation class on Mondays at 1:00 PM prior to beginning the CNA program. In orientation, students will receive their books, LAP packets, and skills lab schedule. Students must complete 78 mandatory seat hours within a 20 - week period at the Shawnee campus for lectures, tests, web-based videos, practicing patient skills, and any other class requirements. Prerequisite to enroll: MUST HAVE TWO negative TB skin test results, a photo ID, and original Social Security card.
